1. What these templates are
This pack contains 20 ready-to-use Word resume templates designed specifically for teaching positions in Indian schools — from Early Years and Primary through Middle, Secondary and Senior Secondary, across CBSE, ICSE/ISC, Cambridge/IGCSE and international-school curricula. Each template is one page and follows a modern format commonly used for teaching applications in India, with a candidate photo box, and Date of Birth and Address included alongside the usual contact details.
Every template already contains sample content (a fictional teacher's name, placeholder photo box, contact details, date of birth, address, experience, education and skills) so you can see exactly how a completed resume should look. This sample content must be replaced with your own details before you use the resume.
2. Who can use them
These templates are free for any teacher, aspiring teacher, or education professional in India to download and use when applying for teaching jobs — in CBSE, ICSE/ISC, Cambridge/IGCSE, international schools, or any other school setting. Simply pick the template that best matches your subject or teaching role:
If your exact subject isn't listed, choose the closest matching template (for example, a Sanskrit teacher can adapt the Hindi/Indian Languages template, and a German or Spanish teacher can adapt the Foreign Language template) and edit the subject-specific details.
3. How to edit the templates
- Open the .docx file in Microsoft Word (or a compatible editor such as Google Docs or LibreOffice Writer).
- Click directly on any text to select and edit it — every section is a normal, fully editable text box/paragraph.
- To replace the photo: click once on the grey placeholder photo box (top right) to select it, then use Picture Format > Change Picture (or right-click > Change Picture) to insert your own passport-style photograph. A recent, formal, front-facing photo with a plain background works best.
- Update the name, title, contact details, date of birth, address, summary, experience, education, certifications, achievements and languages with your own information.
- Keep the section headings (e.g. PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY, TEACHING EXPERIENCE) as they are, or rename them if a different heading suits your profile better.
- Adjust bullet points, add or remove rows/entries, and resize sections as needed — but try to keep the final resume to one page for the best results with recruiters.
4. Replacing the sample information
Every template includes a small italic note near the top reading "Sample template — replace the photo and all names, contact, personal and work details below with your own information." This is a reminder, not part of the resume — delete this line once you have finished editing.
Carefully replace all sample details, including:
- The placeholder photo box — replace with your own recent passport-style photograph
- Name, professional title, phone number, email address, city/location and LinkedIn profile
- Date of birth and current residential address
- Professional summary and core competencies/key skills
- School names, job titles, locations and employment dates
- Achievements, certifications and professional development
- Educational qualifications and languages spoken
Do not leave any placeholder photo or sample text in your final resume. Including a photo, date of birth and address is common practice for teaching applications in India, but if a particular school's application process asks you not to include a photo, date of birth or address, simply delete the photo box and that line of text before applying.
5. Saving/exporting your completed resume as PDF
Most schools and job portals prefer resumes in PDF format. To export your finished resume from Microsoft Word:
- Click File > Save As (or Save a Copy).
- Choose PDF from the "Save as type" / file format dropdown.
- Select a clear file name, for example: FirstName_LastName_Resume.pdf, and save.
Before exporting, open the PDF and check that all content fits on one page, nothing is cut off, and all your details are correct and up to date.
